My primary research interests explore the linkages between hydrology and biogeochemistry, most recently in urban and suburban landscapes. Recently we have been strengthening cross-disciplinary partnerships and embarking on some policy and planning analysis related to green infrastructure as we explore the complicated dynamics of urban socio-eco-technological systems.
I used a mix of methods, including lab and field approaches, geospatial investigations, and data synthesis.
New research here at PennState is spinning up!
I recently wrapped up postdoctoral research under the guidance of Nancy Grimm at Arizona State University as part of the Urban Resilience to Extremes Sustainability Research Network.
At Cornell, I pursued graduate studies with Todd Walter in the Soil & Water Lab in the Department of Biological & Environmental Engineering. In 2016 I wrapped up my PhD which investigated biogeochemical processes in suburban stormwater infrastructure. I finished my M.S. degree in 2013 focusing on riparian denitrification and nitrate removal in groundwater. I have also worked on a project surveying baseline groundwater methane patterns in New York as well as various other hydrology and water quality projects.
Prior to this I worked in Jud Harvey's Hydroecology Lab at the US Geological Survey.
